Within the Support & Enablement Service an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to join our dynamic team. As part of the new service provisions for Telford & Wrekin Council's Supporting People contract, you will be required to provide specialist support to individuals with complex Mental Health and Dementia. You will also be required to provide a support and information service to help Service Users gain confidence and continue to live independently within Retirement Living. This role requires you to provide specialist support and advice to individuals, encouraging positive risk taking, confidence building, resilience and independence through specialist support plans.
You will also be required to provide administrative and clerical support whilst delivering excellent customer service to our tenants. The successful candidate must have a positive, friendly and understanding attitude towards customers and other colleagues ensuring that effective communication is maintained in order to achieve our company vision and values.

What you will need:
The successful candidate will be required to hold a Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths and a recognised first aid and basic food hygiene certificate. A care/support qualification is also desirable but not essential.
You must be able to demonstrate the ability and have previous experience of working in a busy team to provide support for people over 55 years of age with Mental Health and Dementia, as well as having good understanding of all problems faced by people in Supported or Retirement Living, including care and adaptations needed to live independently.
You will play a leading role in supporting your Team, Managers and Colleagues therefore you must have excellent communication, interpersonal skills with a flexible approach and a can do attitude towards works.
It is essential that you hold a full (UK) driving license and have the use of a vehicle for business purposes.
